PERFECTING THE FIT
At Fit Elite, we utilize cutting edge technology and advanced machinery to make our mid calf socks. Made on fine gauge circular knitting Lonati machines, which are known for their precision and exceptional quality, our dress socks are distinguished by their comfort and fit.
Through a series of perpetual movements, a fine fabric is knitted into existence by hundreds of very thin needles, allowing strands of premium cotton to evolve into something beautiful, as artistry and technology come together in a blur of mechanical activity.
FINE GAUGE KNITTING
Technically defined as the number of stitches per unit of length produced by the needles of a circular knitting machine, "gauge", in the context of sock knitting, can be thought of as a measure of the fineness of the sock.
All Fit Elite's fine gauge socks are made on the machine with at least 200 needles. A higher needle count allows us to create finer and lighter dress socks, with design patterns that are more defined. Despite their fineness, due to a denser stitching, the durability of the socks is retained, resulting in a lighter and longer lasting garment.
COMFORT REDEFINED
With the help of advanced sock knitting technology, by calibrating the tension and strength of the individual areas of the sock, our engineers are able to design a product of exceptional comfort and fit.
Our calf is made with controlled tension to ensure the socks stay up without putting too much pressure on the foot, whereas the small percentage of high quality polyamide intertwined with the cotton yarn, adds flexibility to the rest of the sock, creating the perfect amount of tension for it to fit comfortably around the foot.
To avoid an obvious seam at the front of the sock, we use the next generation toe linking technology to automatically machine close our socks, creating an extra fine seamless toe link that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but is also unnoticeable on your feet.
Finally, for added durability, all of our dress socks are reinforced in high friction heel and toe areas of the foot, allowing our socks to withstand the daily wear and tear for a longer period of time.
